Bonding & Contouring
Children can sometimes crack or chip their teeth in everyday activities or sports. In other cases, a child’s teeth may be irregularly spaced, misshapen, or decayed. Fortunately, with dental bonding and contouring, teeth can be repaired, re-shaped, and restored, which can brighten a child’s smile and boost his/her self-confidence.
With contouring, a special tool is used to gently reshape existing tooth enamel, softening sharp edges or chipped teeth. For bonding, a tooth-colored material is applied to an existing tooth to add more structure and then sculpted to fix chips and/or fill spaces. These are both cosmetic changes that can be completed at Cambridge Pediatric Dental Associates.
We can help you evaluate which technique is best for your child, taking into consideration the overall health of your child’s teeth and the treatment expectations with which you and your child are most comfortable.
