Our preventive efforts center upon continuous regularly recurring opportunities to reevaluate each patient beginning ideally by one year of age. At each encounter we are able to monitor growth and dental development, reassess each child’s unique risk factors and customize preventive efforts. Repetitive exposure to regular dental visits help young patients become comfortable and trusting in the dental setting.



The elements of preventive services include oral hygiene training and motivation, fluoride exposure, dental sealants, dietary and oral habit counseling, optimal timing of orthodontic intervention and early detection of unfavorable oral conditions. A six month interval between regularly scheduled check-up visits is generally ideal. The dentists at CPDA are experts in determining when a different interval may be better. Prevention is most effective when it is individualized and built upon trust and cooperation between our team, each child and every family.
