Braces

Braces are the common term for the fixed attachments dentists use to guide teeth and jaws into optimal harmony. Typically they consist of small stainless steel brackets bonded to each tooth, the orthodontic arch wire and elastomeric ligatures (often colored) which connect the arch wire to each bracket.

Orthodontic care is a complex interplay of science and art. Thoughtful analysis and timing are keys to CPDA’s approach. Our goal is to coordinate tooth alignment and jaw harmony during the time of active growth. We believe that treatment with braces as the later permanent teeth are emerging provides the most natural correction and most stable and beautiful results.

If you have any questions about metal braces or their care, our knowledgeable team would be happy to answer them. Contact us at our Cambridge pediatric dental office for more information or to schedule an orthodontic consultation.
