Dr. McEachern earned his DMD from the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1966 when he was elected to Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the National Dental Honor Society. His Pre-Dental undergraduate studies were at Tufts College. Dr. McEachern is a retired Captain in the United States Air Force, where he served at RAF Lakenheath in England. His pediatric internship and residency were both completed at Children's Hospital Medical Center in Boston.
In 1970, Dr. McEachern established the first pediatric dental practice in Cambridge, MA. He was a pioneer practitioner in Straight-Wire Orthodontics and Posterior Composite Restoration in the 1970s, both of which have since become the modern standard of care in pediatric dentistry. Dr. McEachern, was an innovator in treatment outcomes by being one of the first to welcome families into the treatment area as well as being a leader in minimizing the use of X-Rays in pediatric dentistry. He continually embraces the newest technologies in practice management systems, equipment and orthodontic appliances to ensure optimal treatment and a positive experience for the entire family. Through his leadership, Dr. McEachern has developed a team that is focused on providing exceptional, personalized care and an environment where children and their families feel comfortable with all team members.
Dr. McEachern enjoys golf, skiing and travel. He and his wife, Patricia, who has also been a supportive partner in the success of the practice, have four adult children, three grandchildren and enjoy spending summers together at Martha’s Vineyard.
Dr. Filstrup earned her DDS from the University of Michigan’s School of Dentistry in 1999, where she also completed her undergraduate studies and received her Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1995. Dr. Filstrup earned her Master of Science in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Michigan in 2001, and was a Fellow in Pediatric Dentistry at C.S. Mott Children’s Health Center. In 2003, Dr. Filstrup received the award for Excellence in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Michigan’s Kenneth A. Easlick Society. D.Filstrup is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) and is the current Parliamentarian, and the immediate past Chairperson of the Council on Clinical Affairs for the AAPD. Dr. Filstrup is a graduate of the 2010-2012 AAPD Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children Leadership Institute, at Northwestern University, The Kellogg School of Management. Dr. Filstrup is the recipient of two prestigious national awards from the AAPD in recognition of her outstanding efforts directed to children's oral health and welfare (2013) and her exemplary leadership service in the Academy (2015).
Dr. Filstrup joined our practice in 2003. She lives in Boston with her husband, Dr. David J. Fiorillo DDS who is a general dentist. She enjoys reading, traveling, skiing, scuba diving, surfing, and spending time with family and friends. An avid Wolverine fan, she also enjoys attending college football games in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Go Blue!
Dr. Rao earned her DMD from the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 2012 and prior to that completed her undergraduate education at the University of Pennsylvania. While studying dentistry at Tufts, she was the recipient of the Massachusetts Dental Society and ASDA Public Health award for her research on the association between early childhood caries and body mass index. In her final year she was awarded the Gentle Dental Senior Endowed Prize Fund for Exceptional Chairside Manner and upon graduation she was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the National Dental Honor Society. She then went on complete a two year pediatric dentistry residency program at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in NYC. After working in private practice in New Jersey, she and her husband are thrilled to return to New England.
Dr. Rao is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the Massachusetts Dental Society. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, tennis, and spending time with her infant son, family, and friends.
Dr. Aziz received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Tufts University in Biology and French. She subsequently attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where she earned her D.M.D. degree. She was awarded a Certificate of Merit from the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry in 2014 for showing promise in the field of pediatrics. Dr. Aziz completed her pediatric dental training in the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine Pediatric Department where she cultivated her interest in managing the dental growth and development of children. She is board eligible and a board candidate with the American Board of Pediatric Dentists, a member in good standing of the Massachusetts Dental Society, the American Dental Association, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Aziz joins our practice once again, after growing up in Cambridge, MA and formerly coming to the office as a patient herself. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, traveling, skiing and of course a pleasant day at Fenway Stadium.
Dr. Zuniga earned his DDS from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in 2010 where he was the president of his class. While at Columbia, he won a national research award at the American Dental Association’s Annual Meeting, was awarded the New York Academy of Dentistry Exemplary Professional Conduct Award, and the OMS Foundation Daniel M. Laskin Award for the best published paper. His pre-dental studies were at Tufts University. In 2013, Dr. Zuniga completed a three year orthodontic residency at Columbia University where he received his Masters Degree in Orthodontics. He is a Board Certified Orthodontist, a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, member of the Professional Advocacy Council of Orthodontics, and member of the American Association of Orthodontics.
Dr. Zuniga also enjoys ice hockey, running, and travel. He and his wife, Lucinda, have one daughter.
Dr. O’Neill graduated magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame before venturing to New York City where he earned his DDS from Columbia University in 2009. While at Columbia he was elected to the prestigious National Dental Honor Society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon. Dr. O’Neill earned a Certificate in Orthodontics and Master’s in Dental Science at the University of Tennessee in 2012. He returned to New York for a one year fellowship where he earned a Certificate in Cleft and Craniofacial Orthodontics at New York University’s Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery. Dr. O’Neill is a Board Certified Orthodontist, Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, and member of the American Association of Orthodontists. Dr. O’Neill is a proud member of the Cleft Lip and Palate team at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence where he is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Brown University.
Beyond orthodontics, Dr. O’Neill and his wife love traveling and theatre. They can be found out on the town enjoying all of the amazing restaurants in the Boston area. Dr. O’Neill is an avid sports fan, especially anything related to the Blue and Gold of Notre Dame.
